Why You’re Not Seeing Results (Yet)

This past week, on my drive to work, I noticed something unusual.

One of the open fields I drive past every week caught my attention.

It was surprisingly filled with corn plants, and it seemed as though the plants sprouted from nowhere.

I had to take a second look. I had driven past two weeks prior, and it was just bare farmland.

This got me thinking about how seeds go unnoticed while the resulting plants/fruits get all the attention.

And if we view our efforts in life as seeds, there will be seasons between the planting of those seeds and the realization of results.

These are seasons where you continue to sow the seeds of effort, and results seem far away.

The temptation in those seasons is to believe that your lack of results means your efforts are in vain.

Whether or not you see it, your intentional efforts are leading to growth. That growth happens internally first.

In due time, the internal growth your efforts have led to will spill over into the external.

This is when you get the applause of men, the celebration of the world, and the accolades that most of us secretly strive for.

But don’t get it twisted. None of this can happen if we are focused only on our results and not our seeds.

So here's the short version:

  • Your life is a seed.
  • Your efforts are seeds.
  • Your decisions are seeds.

Give yourself time and space to see your efforts result in success.

This is a lesson I am learning firsthand in this season.

There is growth happening beneath the surface.

In due time, you will see the results.

For now, keep sowing!

Rooting for you always!
