When it Rains, It Pours...

"We are all affected when it rains."

This is a direct quote from a conversation I had yesterday.

It got me thinking about how rain affects us all without ever asking for anyone's permission.

I want you to picture two scenarios:

Scenario 1: A farmer has planted seeds and is hoping for rain on his crops.

Scenario 2: A farmer has no seeds planted and is tired of the rain causing a flood on the farm.

To the first farmer, the rain is a blessing. And to the other, it’s an inconvenience.

I want you to rethink both scenarios, but this time substitute 'opportunities' for 'rain' and 'preparation' for 'seed'.

An opportunity (big or small) can only be seized by the person who has sown seeds of preparation.

Someone who is not prepared can't do anything with their opportunities 🤷🏾.

But here’s the thing: When it rains, it rains on all...

Life gives us opportunities, and we can find ourselves in either of these two camps.

The camp of the prepared or that of the unprepared.

You have a choice to make.

Today’s newsletter is a call to prepare, over-prepare, and when you get tired of preparing, prepare some more.

It is better to be prepared and have no opportunity than to have an opportunity and not be prepared (Paraphrasing Les Brown quote).

Remember, only those who have sown the seed of preparation can take advantage of the rain of opportunities.

Your opportunity will come.

I hope you will be prepared when it does.

Rooting for you always!
