This Says Everything About You
My biggest pet peeve is when people fail to say thank you.
It says a whole lot about someone if they can’t appreciate others.
Especially when someone does something for them.
Recently, I heard about a CEO who takes every finalist in their hiring rounds to dinner.
He spends the evening getting to know them, but what he secretly does is watch how they treat the wait staff.
And he also asks the driver who picks them up if they were rude, nice, or even acknowledged them.
It was surprising to hear that many people who treated the CEO with much respect (because they wanted a job) treated the driver, waiter, and other support staff badly.
There’s something I always heard growing up, and I’m paraphrasing here: Treat people with respect because you don’t know tomorrow.
Honestly, I disagree.😅
We should treat people with respect regardless of who they are and who they might become.
Not because others are watching or because it might help you get a job.
Treat others with respect because you would want the same.
How you treat others reveals a lot about you.
Rooting for you always!
