Stay Curious, Stay Ahead

There's that one kid in every class we all didn't like. It wasn't the class clown or the teacher's pet.

For me, it was the one who was always asking questions.

At any given opportunity, they would fire off an unending series of questions that made the class run longer.

I can still remember the look of frustration on some of my teachers' faces.

We're all born with certain levels of curiosity, and it's more evident when we are younger.

However, as we grow through life, we are subconsiously rewired not to be curious.

We ask fewer questions, hoping not to be a bother or for fear of looking stupid.

As if that's not enough, we transfer that lack of curiosity to children and younger ones.

There were questions we asked adults growing up that never got answered.

If we continue to limit curiosity in children, we can’t expect them to magically have it as adults.

I read a study that showed the most successful career professionals asked the highest quality questions based on genuine curiosity.

I'm talking doctors, business coaches, therapists, sales reps, engineers, etc.

Curiosity drives us all to find real answers/solutions because it forces us to ask better questions.

And there seems to be a connection between the quality of questions we ask and the results we get.

So here's the TLDR:

Reengage with your inner child by being genuinely curious.

Take a step back as often as you can and ask questions. Deep, meaningful, thought-provoking questions.

Don’t lose your child like wonder.

Remain curious. Ask away!

Rooting for you always!
