💡 Thought: Gratitude can change your life
The year 2024 is gradually coming to a close.
It honestly feels like we were sharing New Year greetings a month ago
But here we are, 10 days away from 2025.
At the beginning of this year, most people would have set out resolutions aka goals.
I’m sure some achieved all their goals, and others did not.
I achieved some of mine and others changed halfway through the year.
One of my goals this year was to spend a little more time reflecting.
In a moment of reflection, I realized that there is a link between sadness, disappointment, depression, and our goals.
And this realization is my gift to you. 🎁😉
It's no news that our minds tend to focus more on negative outcomes.
We spend time thinking about unmet expectations and goals we didn't achieve.
Our minds dwell so much on these that soon our emotions have no choice but to follow.
Before long we start to tell ourselves, that if only we can achieve these 'things' then we will be happy.
Harsh truth: If you are unhappy with what you have now, you won’t be happy with more.
I am in no way saying you shouldn’t desire more or that you should be complacent.
But this idea that we need to achieve specific goals to make us happy is completely false.
There is a better approach to all of this.
It's the simple but often overlooked practice of gratitude.
Gratitude is a mindset shifter!
It shifts your mind to focus on the good.
Instead of focusing on negative outcomes, gratitude gets you excited about what you achieved.
Gratitude is the ultimate mindset shift most of us need.
It is the missing piece to a lot of our mental struggles.
I have never met anyone who can be grateful and sad at the same moment.
And the good news is there is always something you can be grateful for.
Your reality is someone else’s dream.
Find reasons to be grateful and you’ll never run out of motivation.
A bright future awaits….

If you aren’t grateful for what you already have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.”
