No One Owes You Anything
Picture this: You have a flight to catch and need to leave for the airport at 4:00 am.
You request your Uber ride, and the driver accepts it.
There’s only one issue. He’s not moving.
This was my experience a few weeks ago.
After I saw that he hadn't moved, I waited for 5 minutes and texted him.
Oba: Hey, are you coming?
Driver: I’m on my way
I looked at the Uber app again and saw that he still hadn’t moved.
At this point, I was confused and honestly getting frustrated.
He ended up arriving 20 minutes after I had requested the ride.
Here’s the shocker - I got in the car and this guy didn’t say a word.😡
No apology, no explanation. Not even a good morning.
He would then proceed to play music and sing loudly at 4:30 am.
Also, he missed his turn, which added another 5 minutes to the trip.
It was a very unpleasant experience. And it was also a glaring example of a lack of one thing: Excellence!
A lack of excellence will have you treating customers who are paying for a service as if you are doing them a favor.
I am reminded of something my mom would always say growing up: Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.
The reality is that most people don't strive for excellence in the things they do.
Yet, we all want the accolades and celebration from the world.
The only way to stand out in a sea of competitors, counterparts, or compadres is to be excellent.
Whatever you do, do it well!

I've looked forward to using this one 😅 |
Customers don't owe you their business.
Life doesn't owe you opportunities.
No one owes you anything.
Be at the top of your game! Improve as often as you can
Be obsessed with being a better version of yourself and seizing every opportunity with excellence.
You can stand out for the right reasons or for the wrong ones.
Excellence is a sure way to be exceptional for the right reasons.
Rooting for you always!
